I really, really missed my home birth midwife! I found I had to email her and my doula every so often at first, maybe even once a week, to wean myself off of their friendship. I still email them with milestones of my kids.<br /><br />I remember after giving birth the first time in a yucky hospital but with an amazing doula, I later was chatting with my doula and heard her mention the next birth she had gone to a week later or so. I remember feeling outright BETRAYED that she could ever go to another birth again and share that intimacy with someone else. Isn't that ridiculous? Even in the moment, I knew my emotions were ridiculous, but that's how I felt. I felt she and I were so intimate and close because we had shared that experience. <br /><br />Women in the birthing industry have such a special vocation!Katherine T. I loved my midwive...Can I ask who your midwife was? I loved my midwives with both of my boys, but I really appreciated the ones I had with my second son. I understand totally.
