Paul found his Christmas present

Okay, we had it in the back of the car. He only has a few. Anyhow, he won't stop asking for it or asking to see it. I don't know what to do. He doesn't completely understand Christmas yet or the concept of 4 days. He understands 'tomorrow', but not 4 days. He's not getting the waiting aspect at all. Man I could kick myself for not covering it better!

So I have to listen to this for 4 more days, I hope I have the resolve to make it!

Can you show him days on a calender and then cross each one off in the morning? I know that worked for Aaron a few times.

I think if it was me, I would just give it to him. We've been giving our kids one gift a day from the grandparents that we are not seeing on Christmas. I figure this way the actual Christmas eve and Christmas day celebrations become less like a feeding frenzy and we can (hopefully) make them more about Jesus, his birth, and what that means to our family.

Shannon, that is a good idea, this morning he seemed okay with me reminding him that it wasn't today, he has to wake up 3 more times. He said he didn't want to go sleepies. It was kind of cute. But we'll see how the rest of the day goes.

I also like what you said Casey, I would like the focus to be more on what it SHOULD be, this is something we are working on in are daily life as well. I'll have to talk with Chip if Paul is having a hard time with wanting the 'Deere', it's a pack of 5 John Deere little toy tractors. I'm just glad we decided to not do Santa. He knows Santa is there but we don't do presents from him, it could have been easily ruined by that simple thing.
