The return to 'normal' life :)

Well this will be the first whole week back in awhile. And it's a busy one.

Thanksgiving was nice, but odd because it's not my family :). Then yesterday we went to a wedding, it was Wonderful and very pretty. The reception was fun and had some nice free wine :). Spoken from the girl who got a hang over from 4 glasses of wine on Halloween. It was a good time.

I really haven't much new to share, as it's been pretty plain jane here for awhile. Though I do ask for prayers for a friend/ and his family. His father died very suddenly today. Thanks,

Back from Vacation

It was a nice time. The place we stayed was huge and Maggie got to run around all of the upstairs. I had some car trouble while there, but it just disappeared, so that's great! It wasn't so hard leaving for home, just the usual not wanting to go back to working all the time because it gets crazy for me. It was hard leaving a place so much like the Mid West though. I loved how friendly the people were, friendly and helpful. Kind of made me miss my home region a little and also made me want to move to Cape Cod! :) So tomorrow it's back to normal, meaning work in the morning and work in the evening, same old same old. I know there are people out there reading this so post a comment or too :)

Going to Nantucket

Well first I should start with how vacation has been so far. Not a lot to do in the winter, but it's nice being away and on Cape Cod. People are SO nice there and they drive normal, or what a person from the mid west considers normal. It was nice to not have to speed all the time to avoid tail gaters. So far we have driven the length of Cape Cod, seen a couple beaches and a few light houses. On Tuesday we went to Nauset Beach/ Light house and the waves were HUGE. It ended with Mary Grace and I taking a swim in the water, and getting hit with a huge wave. It was fun but very cold. :)

Today we (Mary Grace and I) went to Nantucket. I have wanted to go there since I first read a book about Maria Mitchell. It is a neat place I only wished I had had more time so I could see the whole Island. I had never been on a ferry so that was fun, and we got to see seals too, I had never seen them in the wild. The town is very neat, cobblestone roads, brick sidewalks, lots of little shops. I hope someday to be able to go back and see the whole Island :).

The saga of vacation begins

Well I'm finally at a computer since coming back, so going to post about vacation. We started out on Friday, Nov. 12th. By time I got near Boston it was apparent that my car was going to die very soon. My blinkers weren't working and the windshield wipers barely moving (and it was snowing/raining out). Luckly we got to a gas station where my car died. It happened to be a place with nice people in it. We got a lot of help, but my car died again to I began the AAA phone calls. The guy had some major pity on me, a girl stranded 100 miles from home with no money! So he cut us a great deal that allowed us to be towed all the way home for free! We ended up sitting in the tow station for a while because oddly they had another car going to the same place as us! It was so odd. We were very lucky and had many reasons to be thankful that evening. On Saturday the car was fixed (alternator went out) and I drove back out to the Cape. :)

Just feeling bummed. Had a good day today too, and we have vacation coming. Guess I was still holding out hope for the impossible, silly me. Hope is always what got me :). Anyway, just writing here in hopes that talking will help me sleep some.

We had a nice visit with friends today, was nice. Left me feeling somewhat unsettled though for various reasons that I don't want to think about now as I have to go to sleep sometime. I enjoyed the company though. Wish I could be surrounded by that many Trads. all the time, how wonderful and prayerful a life that would be :).

In other news, I started my Consecration to Mary yesterday. I'm looking forward to the spiritual growth that will hopefully bring.

Well I should get off this thing, have a lot to do tomorrow with packing and errands and such.

Birthday yuckies

Well the birthday blues that I thought I had lived down decided to come when I was at work. It was when I realized I hadn't heard from some of my closest friends. I guess it's the whole out of sight out of mind. I also realized I had been hoping to hear from a friend I don't talk to anymore. Just sad to see that you can so easily be forgotten. All these people who I have tried to talk with since moving and NEVER hear back from, I guess I was silly enough to actually think some might remember. So it begins, the dreaded birthday to February blues, lets just hope I don't start eating like crazy again! I suppose I'm off to bed in hopes that I won't spend tomorrow on the verge of tears. Birthdays suck why did God invent them.

Happy Birthday to me

Well It's my birthday and I am officially getting old. And have nothing to show for it. I am now 27, which is WAY to close
to 30 for my liking, especially since I haven't anything to show for all these years. Anyhow, I just work today, nothing fun. We had dinner and cake last night and the kid's got me gifts, it was nice :). I also got my trip to Nantucket :), very excited about that as I've wanted to go since I was in about 5th grade. Well I should get to work again.

Not much new

Just felt like posting, I'm sure someone is reading this :), I hope at least. Not like a web page where people can sign your guest book. Though I did do some work on my web page, just have to add some pictures to it. Think I'm going to have one page just for Connecticut. Anyhow, just bored, so thought I'd post here and see if anyone had left me a comment.

I woke up this morning missing feelign like a lady. Must have been something in a dream, or the fact that my birthday is tomorrow. Who knows. Here I only around kids and Jayne. Then at work it's yucky perverse men who I work with (except Mark). It's nice to have a door openned for you once in awhile you know. I just feel so frumpy and old, like this overly plain girl who know one sees as a lady. Sure that's the silly birthday talking though. Anyhow, I'd just like a door openned for me. I miss being treated like a lady :(.

Executive orders

Wow, I JUST learned about these the other day from Jayne, they are fascinating! It's amazing how the use has changed over time. It's also scary, but I am thinking of them the way I think of gun, scary and dangerous, but in awe of the power. If I didn't I'd become paranoid and that's not fun!
I was reading through some and it's interesting to see the Presidents change the ones from those before them, like Reagan did one that said no federal money could go to any place that did abortions and then Clinton came out with one that took it back! I can't wait to read through more of them and see how many times this happens. Anyhow, just thought I'd share my amazement at this with you all. Look it up, it's neat. :)

First of 4 days off

Hi all, I'm sure someone is still reading this, I hope at least :). I didn't do much today, just a few errands, and I didn't get my phone calls made. Was a decent day though and intend on hanging out on the computer tonight just because I can :). Might as well enjoy the few days I have to do that right??

Tomorrow will be just doing a few things like dying my hair, cleaning out my car and I have to go to work for a bit and work on the computer.

Nothing much else going on. Just trying to decide if I should go back to school or not, so what do you think?? Is it worth it??

Don't really have anything for the day in Julie's life, I usually spend this time of year waiting for my birthday and as of late dreading it as it's a yearly reminder of how little I have done in my life.

More at a later time :)

Thursday Nov. 4

I can't believe it's already November! Means my birthday is right around the corner. This year has just been so so FAST. And talk about beginning a year and ending it totally differently. Last year I had my own apartment, and TONS of friend around all the time. A good friend of mine was using my car, and I was in Geology classes. I now live in a room and have friends, but only talk to them online every now and then I see one in person. I also have a job, which I NEVER thought would happen at the beginning of the year. Anyhow, just been a crazy one for sure.

On to the update. Halloween was good, got some candy and apparently drank too much (how could four glasses of wine be too much???), and spent All Saints day sick. So that's the biggest news I have. Nothing much new at all going on. We are getting prepared for our vacation next week or rather at the end of next week. I am again trying to decide what to do with school, as in should I go and spend all that money for it. Haven't yet decided will have to I'm sure by the end of next week.

Oh, they got another dog! A cute little boy puppy. He's a cutie but not potty trained at all! So now each kid has a dog :).

Sorry to be short on the update, hopefully I'll get a tad more in here tomorrow as I have four days off! I'll be bored by Sunday afternoon so I'm sure my Web Site will also have some updates, so check there as well :).

Julie - off to work
